The former American bodybuilder Flex Wheeler experienced kidney failure. This man submitted to a kidney transplant. Since he took steroids, the media decided to blame these preparations for kidney disorders of Flex Wheeler. Actually, Flex Wheeler had a hereditary kidney disease. Of course, administration of anabolic steroids contributed to the complications. But did the bodybuilder administer anabolic steroids appropriately? Did he follow reasonable instructions related to doses and length of intake? No, he didn’t. Flex Wheeler used very enhanced quantities of steroids. Moreover, he administered these drugs prolonged period of time. In addition to these factors, the former American bodybuilder used also other medicines that had negative influence on his kidneys. Thus, anabolic steroids should not be blamed for Flex Wheeler’s health problems.
As it has been already noticed, another case is connected with the former bodybuilder Luke Wood. He died after a kidney transplant, being a young person. The media also chose to demonize steroids in this case. It was reported that steroids caused kidney dysfunctions in Luke Wood. But you should be informed that the bodybuilder used not only anabolic steroids. He used also insulin, pain drugs, DNP and other preparations that influenced on the kidneys negatively. Thus, it is impossible to affirm that anabolic steroids were responsible for his kidney failure and death.
According to many experts, if anabolic steroids are used appropriately, severe kidney dysfunctions don’t occur.
