The ESPN2 journalist Skip Bayless accuses Derek Jeter, a baseball player, of steroid use. He has expressed his thoughts of criticism during the talk show “First take”.
Actually, Skip Bayless doesn’t have any evidence in order to suggest that Derek Jeter administers doping medicines. Despites this fact, the affirmations of the journalist have been spread. Before accusing Derek Jeter of doping, the sports journalist began to criticize anti-doping system of the MLB. He claimed that the MLB’s tests for prohibited medications are not sophisticated enough to detect those that apply prohibited medicines.
The journalist Skip Bayless reminded Victor Conte’s point of view related to testosterone:epitestosterone ratio test that is utilized in the MLB. This method is not sophisticated enough to detect those who take banned products. Instead of this method, it is necessary to use another. Carbon isotope ratio is more sophisticated.
The ESPN2 journalist also noticed that the MLB didn’t have any testing for HGH. The test for this medication is performed in the MLB only once per year. But blood tests for this preparation should be performed more times throughout year. Otherwise, players may use this preparation and avoid detection.
So, the ESPN2 journalist Skip Bayless suggests that Derek Jeter applies HGH and banned products. Skip Bayless also noticed that if he were a baseball player, he would take HGH.
Thus, the sports journalist suggests that MLB players apply HGH and probably other forbidden medications without being caught by anti-doping officers.
It is quite evident that the steroid era in baseball has not ended. Professional baseball players administer different forbidden preparations and remain undetectable. But nobody can accuse a sportsperson of steroid use, basing only on unsophisticated drug testing. It is necessary to focus on facts, accusing a person of intake of prohibited drugs. Otherwise, any suspicion doesn’t have any value.
