Recently Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, expressed his thoughts about testing of anti-doping agencies and the current state of doping in sports.
Victor Conte has claimed that it is unlikely that the 2012 Olympic Games would be free from administration of steroids and other related products. Conte confirmed in an interview that Olympic anti-doping testing policy had various defects. Thus, steroid users were also chosen to take part in the 2012 Olympic Games.
Conte doesn’t believe that usage of banned medications has diminished. He doesn’t agree with persons that state that decreased performance in various sports is a proof that steroids and other doping products are almost excluded from sports.
Victor Conte notices that steroids are widely applied now too. Efforts of anti-doping agencies promoted adoption of sportspeople. So, sportspeople don’t use as high doses as have been utilized before. Nevertheless, application of steroids and other doping medications remains to be a problem.
The founder of BALCO is sure that sportspersons don’t use such designer steroids, as THG. Instead of applying such medications, sportspersons take the steroid testosterone that is believed to be the grandfather of all steroids. Conte adds that since testosterone is fast-acting and it is available in form of creams, gels, patches and injections, it is widely applied by sportspeople. Moreover, not too enhanced dosages of testosterone are needed in order to get excellent effects. This steroid is widespread among players of Major League Baseball.
Victor Conte criticizes anti-doping policy. He affirms that anti-doping agencies have significant ambiguities. Even a truck can go through loopholes which are in doping laws, according to the founder of BALCO.
