The former American mixed martial artist Josh Barnett has obtained a conditional license by the California State Athletic Commission to have right to fight. This individual tested positive for the anabolic steroid which is well-known under the name “Masteron”. It was in June, 2009. Analyses of two urine samples confirmed that Josh Barnett had administered this banned medication. It was before his fight against Fedor Emelianenko that was scheduled on August 1, 2009. As a result of his positive, the wrestler was pushed out of the event and sentenced to a suspension. So, this fighter forfeited his license.
This athlete didn’t admit to administration of steroids or other related products intentionally. It was the 2nd time, when this athlete claimed that he had never applied steroids intentionally.
Certain years ago Josh Barnett tested positive for steroids too. After his participation in Las Vegas at UFC 36 in March 2002 he tested positive for metabolites of certain banned preparations. Thus, he forfeited his UFC Heavyweight title.
Josh Barnett was banned for 6 months by the Nevada Athletic Commission. Shortly after he was sentenced to suspension he left the USA for Japan. This person fought there for about 5 years. Then he came back home. As a defense in 2002, he blamed a dietary supplement which was sold legally. He noted that he had used that supplement in 2002. It was included in the list of the controlled substances later, in 2004. This fighter claimed that it had been legal, when he had utilized it.
Some persons were wondered that the CSAC granted Barnett a license to fight again. This athlete has never acknowledged that he had administered steroids.
This mixed martial artist stated that a suspended sportsperson had to talk publicly about evils of steroids in order to participate in competitions again.
Josh Barnett was capable to convince the commission that he thought that steroids represented significant evil. He asked whether they ever thought that steroids were bad.
